Honolulu, HI (Sports Network) - Saturday night's men's basketball game
between Hawaii and Nevada has been canceled because of the tsunami warning in
Hawaii.
Tsunami waves, caused by an 8.8-magnitude earthquake in Chile on Friday, are
expected to hit Honolulu a little before 2 p.m. pacific time. The University
of Hawaii campus has been closed, with all events canceled.
Nevada's team is located near Waikiki Beach, outside the evacuation zone.
There is no scheduled make-up date for the contest, but the schools will
discuss the possibility later.
